Biography

Yves Bécon, born in 1909 in Finistère and died in Montivilliers in 2004, is a renowned French painter. After spending his youth in the Paris region, where he trained as a painter, he moved to Le Havre in 1952 to pursue his artistic career.
Fascinated by the light of Le Havre, Bécon established himself as a great colorist. He left behind a significant body of work that reflects his love for this region.

On October 5, 2013, a Yves Bécon square in Aplemont was inaugurated in his honor by Édouard Philippe, then deputy mayor of Le Havre.
