Biography of Karin Székessy
Karin Székessy, born April 17, 1938 in Essen, Germany, is an artist renowned for her black and white fashion and nude photography. Her works are characterized by a subtle play of light and abstract silhouettes, exploring a delicate feminine eroticism.
Székessy studied photography at the Institute for Photojournalism in Munich and worked as a photographer for Kristall magazine until 1966. In 1963, she began a collaboration in nude photography with Paul Wunderlich, whom she married in 1971. Her series *Selected Female Nudes* (11 works) from 1970 to 1979 illustrates her distinctive approach, in which female figures are wrapped in transparent fabrics and carefully lit.

From 1967 to 1969, Székessy taught fashion photography at the School of Arts and Crafts in Hamburg before working as a freelance photographer. Her husband, Paul Wunderlich, was also a painter and sculptor, and the couple collaborated until Paul's death in 2010.
Karin Székessy continues to live and work in Hamburg and the South of France. Her work remains an important reference in the field of artistic photography, particularly for its aesthetic and erotic exploration of the female body.
