Biography
Jack (Jacques) Clemente was born in 1926 in Novara, Italy, where he graduated in literature and philosophy. He continued his studies in painting at the Brera Academy in Milan before moving to Paris in 1952.
In 1953, Jack Clemente held his first solo exhibition at the Galerie de la Muette. He continued his artistic career by exhibiting in London in 1957 at the New Art Centre. His works are characterized by an abstract style inspired by prehistoric and geological imagery.

In the 1960s, Jack Clemente moved toward new forms of artistic expression, abandoning oil painting in favor of assembling "non-art" objects. This transition marked a turning point in his work, reflecting his desire to explore alternative materials and concepts.
Clemente's work is recognized for its ability to combine abstraction with elements inspired by ancient and geological forms, offering a unique perspective on the evolution of his art over the decades. He died in 1974, leaving behind an influential artistic legacy marked by his experimentation and distinctive style.
