Biography

Hans Kinder, born in 1900 in Dresden, is a German painter who marked the late Cubist movement. After studying at the Dresdner Kunstgewerbeschule and doing military service, he was invited to the Bauhaus in Weimar in 1924, which led him to question traditional models of artistic creation. Although he maintained a figurative approach in the 1920s, his art evolved towards abstraction, influenced by his encounter with Pablo Picasso in Paris during the Second World War. A member of the Dresden Secession in 1932, Kinder became an independent artist after the war. He is known for his dynamic works that explore movement and color. He died in 1986 in Dresden.
