Artist Biography

Daniel Calarco, born February 9, 1970 in Choisy-le-Roi, near Paris, is a painter whose art is strongly influenced by the masters of Romanticism such as Corot, Watteau, Boudin, and Gallien-Laloue. A young romantic artist, he explores the harmony between man and nature, as well as childhood dreams and the symbols of dreams.

Inspired by Caspar David Friedrich's advice, "Look at things first with your spiritual eye", Calarco invites us to enter a fairy-tale world where nature and nostalgic memories meet. His paintings are characterized by inhabited landscapes, where figures and splashes of color create captivating compositions.

Revealed to the general public at his opening in January 1999 at the Espace Bellini (Hôtel Croisette, rue du Canada 06400 Cannes), in the presence of Paul Simonet, deputy for culture, Daniel Calarco stands out for his unique romantic approach in the 21st century. He currently exhibits in Nice, Cannes, Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Paris, and online.
