Roger Tourte (1902-1972) was a French painter whose travels around the world profoundly influenced his work. His exhibitions and publications demonstrate his artistic curiosity and interest in different cultures.

Roger Tourte, born in 1902, trained at the Beaux-Arts in Reims and Paris. Between 1930 and 1932, he traveled to Africa and Northern Europe, discovering new cultures and landscapes that enriched his painting.


His explorations continued in China, Persia, Japan, as well as North and South America, broadening his artistic vision. In 1937, he exhibited at the Galerie Charpentier in Paris, consolidating his career.


In 1938 he moved to Athens, where his work was inspired by the local environment. In 1952 he publishedMykonos, a book illustrating his travel impressions and his view of the places he visited. Roger Tourte died in 1972, leaving an artistic legacy marked by the diversity of cultures and landscapes he explored.
