Paul Wunderlich (1927-2010) was a German painter, engraver, lithographer and sculptor, renowned for his style combining realism and surrealism and his works incorporating human figures and symbolic forms.

Paul Wunderlich, born March 10, 1927 in Eberswalde (Brandenburg) and died June 6, 2010 in Carpentras, is a German artist with multiple talents: painting, engraving, lithography and sculpture. After studying at the Hamburg School of Fine Arts (1947-1951), he spent several years in Paris (1960-1963) before becoming a professor at the Hamburg School of Fine Arts (1963-1968).
In 1981, he settled permanently in Paris and was elected correspondent of the Académie des Beaux-Arts (Engraving section). A member of the Royal Academy of Sciences, Letters and Fine Arts of Belgium and the Freie Akademie der Künste in Hamburg, he left a body of work marked by surrealism and fantasy. His creations, often combining human figures with abstract or symbolic forms, are exhibited in numerous European galleries and museum collections.
