Paul Weil, born in 1906 in Lunéville and died in 1969 in Nancy, was a self-taught French painter who devoted his life to capturing everyday life and the landscapes that surrounded him. Born into a wealthy family, he led a carefree and unconventional existence, influencing the style and diversity of his works. He painted city scenes, canalside scenes, funfairs, and still lifes. Between 1939 and 1945, he lived in the south of France, enriching his palette with southern landscapes. Toward the end of his life, living in Nancy, he continued to produce works in oils, but also used watercolors and pastels, offering a sensitive look at urban life and natural landscapes.
