Lloyd Herfindahl, an American painter and illustrator born in 1922 in Minnesota, is recognized as one of his state's most celebrated artists. A student of Adolf Dehn, he has exhibited at the Minnesota Capitol, the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris, and internationally, and founded the Albert Lea Art Center.

Lloyd Manford Herfindahl was born on June 15, 1922, in Emmons, Minnesota, to Albert and Betsy Herfindahl. He studied at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and became a student of Adolf Dehn. Recognized as one of Minnesota's most celebrated artists, he is the only artist to have held a solo exhibition at the State Capitol in St. Paul. He also participated in numerous international exhibitions, including the World's Fair, the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris, the Kotler Gallery in Montbard, and the Musée de Bruxelles. Passionate about local artistic development, he founded the Albert Lea Art Center in Minnesota. Lloyd Herfindahl died in 1996, leaving a notable artistic legacy.
