Henrik Bloch

Biographie

Bloch Henrik (born 1931) is a Danish painter, stage designer, and librettist. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, he is known for his colorist sets and long-standing collaborations with the Royal Danish Theatre and Odense Theatre.

Bloch Henrik, born in 1931, is a Danish painter, scenographer and librettist, who graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1952. He began his career in 1953 at the Royal Danish Theatre, as a scenographer and librettist for the balletThe Courtesanby Børge Ralov. His sets, characterized by colorful and three-dimensional scenic images, go beyond classical scenography to offer a true pictorial experience.


In 1956, his first mission as an actor withArmand Salacroux Margueritemarks the beginning of a collaboration lasting more than twenty years with Kai Wilton, future director of the Odense Theatre. In the 1980s and 1990s, Bloch Henrik was particularly involved with Jørgen Blaksted's tours, consolidating his reputation in the world of Danish theatre.


His work, combining painting and staging, demonstrates an original and multidimensional artistic vision, leaving a lasting mark on the theatrical and pictorial landscape of Denmark.
