Georges Pierre Bouche, born in Lyon on January 24, 1874 and died in Celles-sur-Durolle on May 12, 1941, is a French painter who marked the beginning of the 20th century. Initially a student of architecture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, he moved to Paris and created a joint studio there with Pierre Laprade.


After Laprade's departure, Bouche married Émilie Charmy and began exhibiting his works in 1902 at the Salon d'Automne, the Salon des Indépendants and the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. His recognition increased during the 1926 Retrospective des Indépendants, where he presented paintings such asMy grandmother,Landscape of Dauphiné,Landscape in Auvergne,View of Notre Dame,GamesAndPalette and brushes.


His work demonstrates a profound exploration of color and light.
