Charles Martin, born February 28, 1884 in Montpellier, is a French illustrator renowned for his precise and elegant style. Inspired by Cubism, he illustrated magazines and luxury books, collaborating with renowned artists and writers.

Charles Martin began his career in light magazines before collaborating with prestigious publications such as theGazette of Good TonAndHarper's BazaarHis style, influenced by cubism, is distinguished by a precise and joyful line, using techniques such as etching and stencil.
He then turned to luxury and decorative art, illustrating around twenty books, includingSports and Entertainmentin collaboration with Erik Satie andThe Silences of Colonel Brambleof André Maurois. Martin also produced some remarkable portraits, notably that of the painter André Dignimont. His work demonstrates a technical mastery and refined sensitivity that made him a recognized draftsman of his time. He died in Paris in 1934.
